TJ loves tailgating. TJ also loves tailgating games. Actually, we all do. TJ asked me for tailgating games for our homemade Christmas. I have previously given him other tailgating games like cornhole, but he didn’t have ladder golf. I decided (with the guidance of Mr. Mike) that PVC Ladder Golf was the way to go.

I knew exactly what to do, where to start and luckily had all the tools I needed.

Insert hysterical, sarcastic laugh.

That is completely true about Mr. Mike, though. He was so helpful and guided me through this fun little project with no injuries. No injuries besides my aching shoulders the next day.

I ended up ordering the balls for this game online because I was running out of time and because I just wasn’t sure where to find the right material. I didn’t paint the Ladder gold set before gifting becuase I wanted him to pick his colors.

We started with long pvc pipes and used handy little pvc cutters to slice through these like butter. I also used pvc glue which doesn’t come off. Ever. Like ever.

Actually, I did manage to get it off of my hands after soaking in hot soapy water for about 30 minutes. I also got it on my workout pants that I never work out in and it is on them for life.

Another side note is pvc glue has a very strong odor, so be sure to have lots of ventilation.

Here’s what you’ll need:

•4 pieces 3/4” pvc pipe

•12 3/4” pvc 90 degree fittings

•12 3/4” pvc tee fittings

•pvc cutters

•pvc glue

The dimensions for the Ladder Golf game can be found here. We added a middle cross bar along the bottom. We saw it on several other sets and thought it might help with sturdiness. Glue all pieces together according to the plans above.

He loved it! He can’t wait for the weather to warm up.
