Every year for my birthday and Christmas I get really excited because I know I am going to get my stock for the year of amazing bath goodies. I get all of the luxurious bubble baths, relaxing bath salts, sugar scrubs, body oils.
Oh I am dreaming of all the scents right now. Aaaaaahhhhh.
Of course, they only last a week or so because I use them in excess at every bath, every chance I get. I know I could use them more sparingly or buy them the rest of the year, but there is something special about waiting all year long for my favorites.
My mama hates scented things. They burn her nose and make her feel nauseated. She and I are very different. She’s awesome, but very different from me. She is VERY hard to find gifts for. I mean very hard. She is very picky and has a hard time hiding her feelings of disdain for things.
She hurt her foot in a car wreck years ago and it has never quite healed right. Although she hates scented things she loved a gift I gave her years ago from Bath Junkie. It was Breast Cancer Awareness month and they had a special on all pink bath things. I made her bath salts for her foot, colored them pink and scented them with Honey Almond. I knew it was the only scent besides Rose she could tolerate.
She absolutely loved them. SURPRISE! After that our Bath Junkie closed down and I could never get them again. Thankfully, I met my husband and his mama likes to diy as much as I do. Maybe more. Well if we’re being honest it is way more. Plus she is a science teacher to boot. That means she understands the science behind all those chemical reactions and has lots and lots of recipes. She and I made these relaxing bath salts and they were so easy to make and a big hit. Now my mama asks for them every time she runs out.
Your wish is my command, mama.
(Note: For her relaxing bath salts I use a fragrance oil called Honey Almond. This is not the same as essential oils. I would prefer to use pure essential oils for these bath salts, but she loves the scent of the other. Mama gets what mama wants. )
