When we used to come to visit the farm before we lived here, I always loved the summertime food. It tasted so fresh and I felt so good knowing exactly where it came from. I would watch them pick it and then prepare it. The garden salsa my sister-in-law made was so delicious.
I have tried and tried and I can never replicate hers, but I have made my own versions of salsas and I think they’re pretty tasty. There are two types of people in this world where cilantro is concerned. You love it, or it tastes awful to you. I am the latter.
So my salsas NEVER have cilantro in them. Please feel free to add to your own if you love cilantro.
This is a pretty simple recipe. It includes tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños. All can be pulled straight from your garden when the time is ripe. See how I did that?
That’s pretty much it. That’s part of the reason I love it so much. It has so few ingredients because it doesn’t need more than that.
I put all the ingredients into a food processor and pulse just until combined and chopped. I like to let it chill for up to 2 hours before serving, but you can eat it immediately if you can’t wait. For other helpful kitchen gadgets for your garden harvest check out this post.
