Must-Have Purchases for a Farm or Homestead
Prime Day is not just for tech gadgets and fashion; it’s also a fantastic opportunity for farm and homestead owners to snag great deals on essential items for their rural lifestyle. From farming equipment to outdoor gear and even sustainable living tools, Prime Day offers a treasure trove of savings, ESPECIALLY if you are on a budget. I am ALL for shopping local when you can, but some of these deals are too good to pass up if you are anything like us and pinching every penny.
These are some of my favorites:
Garden and Farming Tools:
- Explore Prime Day deals on gardening tools, such as shovels, rakes, and pruners.
- Look for discounts on high-quality hand tools, wheelbarrows, and garden hoses.
Livestock Supplies:
- Stock up on livestock essentials like feeders, waterers, and electric fencing materials.
- Find discounts on grooming tools, and health supplies for your animals.
Outdoor Apparel:
- Invest in durable outdoor apparel, including work boots, rain gear, and sun hats.
- Look for deals on comfortable and protective clothing for all seasons.
- And be sure to check out the everyday fashion essentials. My absolute favorite to help me look put together in a pinch no matter what I’ve been doing on the farm is this, which I was gifted LAST prime day from my sweet neighbor. It has been a lifesaver and packs well.
Power Tools and Equipment:
- Check for savings on power tools like chainsaws, generators, and pressure washers, even this little mini auger which has saved us many times (be forewarned it doesn’t like clay soil very much…then again what does)
- Consider purchasing a reliable backup generator (this one is solar-powered, have not tried it but looks interesting) for your farm. We have a few different generators! It is especially essential for us because we have all that beef in freezers. Yikes! We’d be in big trouble if not.
Solar-Powered Devices
Speaking of solar. I am drawn to those types of things but just remember they need sun to work so if you don’t get particularly sunny days you might be in a bind.
- Consider solar-powered lighting for outdoor areas, such as barns and pathways. We love these for around the old truck and the sign at our road.
- Explore solar water pumps for efficient irrigation and livestock watering.
- I REALLY want this one for my new house. Even though my husband is an electrician he doesn’t want to trench across our driveway for an electric birdbath. LOL
Home and Kitchen Appliances:
- Upgrade your kitchen appliances for preserving farm-fresh produce, and easy meal preparation for your family.
- Look for deals on everyday kitchen equipment, beef cooking tools, canning equipment, food dehydrators, pressure cookers, food scales, vacuum sealers and more. You can also check out my previous post on some of the kitchen tools we use every day on our farm to feed the nine of us all year.
Outdoor Furniture and Decor:
- Enhance your outdoor spaces with comfortable furniture and decorative items.
- Find deals on patio sets, garden ornaments, and outdoor lighting.
Farm Books and Educational Resources:
– Invest in books, courses, and educational materials to enhance your farming knowledge.
– Look for deals on farming guides, livestock care books, and homesteading courses.
