Chili is one of my favorite fall foods and I always want it during football season. I personally think it is great all year and often crave it in the summer, but my husband doesn’t like it when I make “soups” in the summer. If you call chili a soup then save this recipe for fall and winter. If you are like me and eat it with Fritos and cheese at any time of the year, don’t wait to try it out because it is delicious.
Jump to RecipeI think Chili makes a great meal train delivery, pot luck, or guy’s night dinner. It’s easy to make, you only need one pot and it feeds a crowd easily. It is also great for kids, but if your kids don’t like spicy things you may want to ease up on the spice you add or omit the jalapeños. I like to use Ranch Style Beans with Jalapenos because I think they’re delicious, but you can use your chili beans of choice.
I have fed this to tons of people and they seem to love it. I love to eat it with Fritos, sour cream, and cheese, but this is great served with saltines, tortilla chips, or cornbread. I serve it up bar style with lots of toppings like raw onions, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese.
Jump to RecipeI brown our grass-fed ground beef and add the chili powder once it is browned and then I throw every other ingredient in and let it come to a boil. After that I let it simmer on low without a lid so some of the moisture can escape and it reduces down by half.
